Thaliwal Bridge are delighted to announce that company founder Ranjit Thaliwal has been elected as the new Leicestershire Law Society (LLS) President.

LSS President Ranjit

Ranjit has over 10 years’ experience working in mental health law as Senior Partner of Thaliwal Bridge Solicitors. He is also heavily involved with local and international charities and in his new role as LSS President he is keen to promote the valuable work of mental health charity Rethink Your Mind.

As incoming President, Ranjit will also continue to support Unique Home for Girls, a charity that rescues abandoned baby girls in the Indian city of Jalandhar. Having recently organised a charity benefit that raised over £14,000 for the Home, Ranjit says he will use his profile as LSS President to boost awareness of their lifesaving work.

Founded in the mid 19th century, Leicestershire Law Society is the 6th biggest law society in the UK today with around 500 representatives.

The legal profession faces a number of challenges in the form of funding cuts and changes in legislation. In these difficult times, Ranjit is ‘greatly honoured’ to take responsibility for the society’s continued success.

He has pledged to continue the momentum of LSS by organising events for local lawyers and strengthening links with the Leicestershire community.

With Ranjit at the helm, LSS is confident that Leicestershire will continue to be recognised as more than just a centre of legal excellence.
