Poonam’s background is that of Civil Litigation having qualified and trained as a solicitor in London, where she worked in both city and regional firms. During her studies, Poonam was awarded an academic scholarship during her time at university and was then selected to attend and study in Italy at the University of Udine following the successful completion of her dissertation in the final year.
She has extensive experience in dealing with a range of complex legal matters and has the ability to provide straightforward legal advice in a clear and concise manner. She undertakes her own advocacy, both in conferences and at court. Poonam was also selected as a member of the prestigious Business Network International (BNI) where this networking platform enabled her to generate further business for her previous employer in London.
Poonam is now committed to legal aid work and is now thriving as a Court of Protection Solicitor, with a particular interest in complex Health and Welfare proceedings and matters involving Community Deprivation of Liberty orders. She represents the individual deemed to lack capacity as well as their family members in the Court of Protection. She is passionate about providing quality legal services to those most in need.
Poonam has undertaken various charitable endeavours during her time in practice as well as undertaking pro-bono work such as volunteering at a local homeless shelter. Poonam is also keen to develop her charitable work with Unique Home (Punjab) with the view to taking a more proactive role with this charity having supported the charity for many years. Poonam is always keen to get involved with the firm’s charitable efforts and events.
Poonam enjoys spending time with her two children, her family and socialising with friends. Poonam also enjoys reading, attending the theatre and has a tendency to overindulge in retail therapy.
